About us

Our story

Darpan Sangati is a socially-conscious outreach and initiative to spread awareness amongst the rural
Indian population about the harmful ingredients in cosmetics and personal care products in daily use.

Innocence stemming out of educational and economic compulsions often makes certain demographics the victim of harmful, unethical and disease causing cosmetics. This can be reversed by making them aware of the ghastly chemicals and ingredients they are consuming and the simple choices and alternatives they can adapt to.
Darpan Sangati is also a movement to make new educators and mascots who take up the cause to make a cooperative of inspired teams to practice, manufacture and promote sustainable and ethical consumer products.
Combating the barriers of education, age, language and economic factors, Darpan Sangati aims to create consumers that are free and safe from misleading advertisements, harmful ingredients, and ill-informed choices.

OUR MISSION

Educate Enlighten
Elevate Empower

Rural Indian population embraces beauty as a daily routine, but often succumbs to what the mirror shows as a reflection, and ignores what is applied to skin, hair, face and body. Awareness about what they eat, what they watch and read is growing, but seldom do they know the merits of what they consume as a beauty and personal care product. Darpan (Mirror) Sangati (Union or Association) would like to facilitate a healthier Pratibimb (Image) of the beautiful Indian consumer through a more ignited and well informed mind. Every day the ignorant and maybe indifferent rural person, totally oblivious to the ingredients they consume, hoodwinked by false media and point of sale promotions, rubs, dresses and consumes slow poisons in the form of cosmetics. What they feel happy in consuming daily is a dangerous poison or chemical that is banned, banished and forbidden World over for ages. But they are consuming it without any knowledge of its dangers, making their health deteriorate and them, lifeless. Often they realise, too little and too late, when life threatening diseases grip them. They too care about the environment and a sustainable future, they are the most connected people to nature, but they aren’t aware. We at Darpan Sangati strongly believe that self regulation works more than government regulations, which often fails to go beyond guidelines and standards for urban population. We have been delighted to see the desire to change and adapt in these consumers, and make healthier choices, only if they know. Our enthusiastic ambassadors reach to the grassroots to educate, empower and facilitate them to discard products that damage their body and soul, in their language, respecting their culture, their limitations and aspirations

The small baby steps that Darpan Sangati is taking shall steadily and patiently bring about awareness and change. The criminal and evil impact of harmful cosmetics not only damages the skin of innocent consumers but also their soul and spirit of trust.
